If the candidate fails to learn the primary number plate correctly, then the examiner asks the candidate to learn a second number plate. If the candidate can not appropriately read the second quantity plate, then the examiner must use a tape measure to measure the correct distance between the candidate and a third number plate. If the candidate can not read the third quantity plate, then the candidate is deemed to have failed and the test is not going to continue. The DVLA shall be knowledgeable and the candidate's provisional licence will be revoked. This part of the idea test is performed on a computer system.
